The upcoming Doctor Who stars Matt Smith as The Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond. Steven Moffat, who takes over for Russell T Davies this year, heads the series as lead writer and producer.

Verse for Doctor Who

The licence fee pays for shows like Doctor Who.
But on watching the two-part Christmas special – what a to-do.

The Master of the universe, played superbly by John Simm.
He somehow got everyone on Earth to look like him.

Time Lord Timothy Dalton sure earned his fee with the line: "We will ascend to become creatures of consciousness alone when creation itself ceases to be."

This tiresome plot got more confusing by the way, with the inclusion of elfin-like creatures from the planet Gallifrey.

Oh yes, what a to-do.
Especially when an actress came on playing old Mother Who.

My favourite Daleks and Cybermen alas we saw no trace.
But the Oods were there to take their place.

David Tennant's line: "I don't want to go,"
is the last we shall hear from him on this show.

His hands shooting laser beams, and his head afire.
Welcome to the new Doctor Who.
So to Matt Smith, the latest incumbent, it's over to you.

Mowbray Road,
South Shields.

Skenfrith is just what the doctor ordered

JUST look Who has dropped into Skenfrith!

Villagers got first-hand experience of life on a TV set when the cast and crew of hit show Doctor Who spent two days filming there this week.

The 11th doctor, Matt Smith, who took over from David Tennant last year, wore a plastic rainhood between takes while crew members battled against inclement weather conditions to recreate a mid 20th century summer’s day.

Bye Bye Survivors... and don't come back! (*SPOILERS*)

Phew, thank goodness it is finally over... YES! YES! and YES!

I tuned in to BBC1 last night to watch the final episode of Series 2 Survivors (What was I thinking?!) hoping that it would be something special... I was very disappointed, yet not really all that surprised!
When Tom was shot by Peter in the woods... why didn't that man take the gun from Tom? He was also very quick to accept that Tom was dead. What utter nonsense.

The silly standoff at the airport was embarrasing to watch. Why do trained marksman always miss their target?.. I'm thinking of Greg (Paterson Joseph) dodging bullets here to duck behind the car. It's just so painful to watch! A blind monkey would have done a better job.

Also, at the end when Abby is reunited with Peter... her joy only lasts a few moments and then... well, erm... nothing. She should be smiling and hugging him more... make us believe that you are estatic at seeing your son.

After all, this whole 'I am looking for my son' bo**ocks has dragged on forever. Just one of the many moments where I felt shortchanged... well, I would if I gave a shit about the programme!

The last scene was cool enough, although I guessed that that is where Tom (Max Beesley) would be... on the plane... *yawn*...

Apparently there is to be no Series 3... bovvered? me?... I ain't even bovvered. As Catherine Tate's nana would say... WHAT A LOAD OF OLD SHIT!
--- --- ---
EDIT > Oopps! I have amended the above to read that Tom (and not Greg) was shot in the woods by Peter. Thank you to Lady L for kindly letting me know :-)

Doctor Who - Matt Smith (Eleventh Doctor) Road to the Tardis

Amy Pond - Played by Karen Gillan

(GGG - Grumpy Ginger Girl!)
Karen has been spotted filming dressed as a policewoman! Is Amy in the police, or is it a disguise?
Karen is Scottish, but we don't know if she will use her real accent, or an English one, like David Tennant did.*
*DWA Issue 155.

The New Doctor - played by Matt Smith

Matt was the third person who auditioned to play the Doctor. Everyone thought he was perfect right away!
Producer Steven Moffat says Matt is very clumsy and walks like a drunk giraffe!
Matt has already broken his sonic screwdriver while filming.
Matt has been watching loads of old Doctor Who stories to help him prepare.*
*DWA Issue 155.

David Tennant Stars in New Radio Play

From The Daily Telegraph: Former Doctor Who star David Tennant will portray Craig Murray, the former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, in a new radio play written by David Hare. It will air in the UK on February 20th. In 2004, Murray spoke out on the UK's use of torture before becoming embroiled in scandal himself. You can watch a video of the real Mr. Murray in action here. Luckily for Mr. Tennant, he doesn't actually have to look like the guy.
