Doctor Who BABE - Astrid Peth

Kylie Minogue only appeared in one episode, but we'll never forget her turn as Astrid, a waitress with a big heart and big dreams in Voyage Of The Damned. She certainly turned the Doctor's head, too.

The First Doctor’s catchphrase

"Mm? What's that, my boy?"

Your evil is my good

"Your evil is my good. I am Sutekh the destroyer. Where I tread, I leave nothing but dust and darkness I find that good!"

Time Team

We all know about the Doctor and the Master, but have you heard of these other Time Lords?

- Romana.
Travelled with the Doctor but ended up in E-Space, a strange parallel universe.

- The Rani.
Was a ruthless scientist. She created a giant mouse that ate the Lord President's cat!

- Borusa.
Was another Lord President and a trusted friend of the Doctor - until he turned bad.

- Omega.
Was trapped in an antimatter universe and wanted revenge for being left there.

- The Inquisitor.
Was a Time Lord judge who was tricked into putting the Sixth Doctor on trial.*

The Time Lords - Fact File

The beginning...

The people of Gallifrey wanted to travel in time, so two brainy engineers, Omega and Rassilon, worked together to make this possible. But Omega disappeared when an experiment went wrong and everyone thought that he was dead. Rassilon got all the credit and became President of the Time Lords.

The Death Zone...

History says that Rassilon was a great leader, but others thought he was a cruel tyrant. There were rumours that the Time Lords locked him in a tomb at the heart of Gallifrey's Death Zone. He was presumed dead, although legend said that he had become immortal and would wake up again one day.

Appearance...

Time Lords look like humans and can regenerate if they are dying. Every cell in their body is renewed, so they end up with a new face.

Secret missions...

The Time Lords took a vow not to interfere with other planets and people. The Doctor thought this was boring, stole a TARDIS and went off to have amazing adventures. The Time Lords occasionally sent him on secret missons - including one to destroy the Daleks. This may have been what started the Last Great Time War.*

The NEW look TARDIS!

New look for a new Doctor.

Spot the changes...

- The police box is now a fresh new blue
- The windows have a new painted outline
- There is a different lamp on the top
- The wording has changed on the left panel
- A new sign has appeared on the right door panel

Did you Know?

The police box has changed several times since Doctor Who began in the 1960s. The roof of the first ever TARDIS eventually fell on top of Sarah Jane actress Elisabeth Sladen. Ouch!

Why is it different?

The last time we saw the TARDIS it was on fire and crashing to Earth! The reason for the new look box will be explained in the first episode. *

Mad Hair Alert!

Loving the hair Mr H!

2. Say What?

Dont let someone be a priority in your life when you are still an option in their life.
I really could have done with hearing this a few years ago! Not that it would have made that much of a difference to my foolish self, still... live and learn, one hopes!

4. Well I Never!

Women blink nearly twice as much as men.

Really? Still, I know something that men do a great deal more!..

Ice Warriors

An ancient and noble race called the Ice Warriors once froze the Flood monsters on Mars.

3. Well I Never!

Your left lung is smaller than your right lung to make room for your heart.
(I'm not sure how this applies to Time Lords!)

2. Well I Never!

The colour blue has a calming effect. It causes the brain to release calming hormones.

Blue is a very Spiritual colour.

Stingrays

Alien Stingrays have metal bones and can gobble up everything in their path.

Character Options should make a Wilf action figure

Do you agree? What say you?

FIND THE MAN IN THE COFFEE BEANS!

Doctors have concluded that if you find the man in the coffee beans in 3 seconds, the right half of your brain is better developed than most people.

If you find the man between 3 seconds and 1 minute, the right half of the brain is developed normally.

If you find the man between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly and you need to eat more protein.

If you have not found the man after 3 minutes, the advice is to look for more of this type of exercise to make that part of the brain stronger!

And, yes, the man is really there!
