Starring in Aladdin at the Clyde Auditorium, SECC, Glasgow.
The rip-roaring adventure story of Aladdin will be brought magically to life in a spectacular production starring actor, television presenter and all-round entertainer, John Barrowman, in the title role of Aladdin. The Krankies, synonymous with the great tradition of pantomime in Glasgow, will be appearing alongside John as the Chinese Policemen.
Barrowman 'hasn't seen new Doctor'
John Barrowman has been so busy filming Desperate Housewives that he hasn't been able to watch Matt Smith as Doctor Who.
The Torchwood star said he hadn't had a chance to check out how Matt was doing after taking over from David Tennant.
He said: "I have not seen any of the new Doctor Who, I've been away in the States and because of my filming schedule over there doing Desperate Housewives I wasn't able to sit down and watch it."
He continued: "I have it all on my computer. I've yet to watch it to get up to date. I'm looking forward to it, I'm a big fan of Who myself. I think Matt Smith will add his own kind of personality and cache to being the Doctor. So I'm excited about it and like everybody else out there, they will get on that journey with the Doctor and the Tardis and the assistant. It's not really about who plays it, it's about the programme. I'm looking forward to watching."
John was speaking at a press conference for Christmas pantomime Aladdin in Glasgow, in which he is playing the lead role. The show is running at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre's Clyde Auditorium from December 11 to January 9, 2011.

Carey Mulligan donates Bafta dress to Oxfam
An Education actress Carey Mulligan has donated the dress she wore to the Baftas to charity Oxfam.
The black-and-white gown will be displayed in a temporary Oxfam shop in the basement of Selfridges, in London, for a week from Friday.
The monochrome dress, made for the 24-year-old British actress by French label Vionnet, will then be auctioned with a starting price of £50.
Mulligan picked up this year's best actress Bafta in the dress.
Money raised from the sale will help Oxfam's women's projects throughout the world.
"I'm honoured to be able to donate my Bafta dress to support Oxfam's work helping women living in extreme poverty across the world," Mulligan said.
Vintage and high-end pieces will also be sold in the pop-up charity shop, which will run from Friday 14 to Thursday 20 May.

Daisy Lowe: "I don't want to do pornos"
Daisy Lowe has brushed aside criticism of her nude modelling shoots.
According to Metro, the fashion star told Vogue that there is a difference between her work and pornography.
Lowe said: "People are like, 'Oh, you get naked all the time'.
"I got naked twice - just twice - and yes, maybe that's twice too many, but I think that women's bodies are great."
She added: "I don't want to do pornos! It's a tasteful thing."
Lowe recently rejected reports that she had embarked on a romance with Doctor Who star Matt Smith. Her spokesperson said that the pair were "just having fun" together.

'Christopher & His Kind' For Belfast, Matt Smith Stars
Shooting will commence on ‘Christopher And His Kind’ on Sunday, May 16th in Belfast. The 90-minute film for BBC Two will star ‘Doctor Who’s Matt Smith as writer Christopher Isherwood and will examine the determining years of the latter’s life, based on his 1976 memoir of the same name.
The drama will shoot on location in Belfast until Tuesday, June 8th with the assistance of the Northern Ireland Screen Fund supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Isherwood’s formative years see him escape repressive English society and a suffocating relationship with his mother, played by Lindsay Duncan (Under the Tuscan Sun) for the decadent – if politically unstable – world of 1930’s Berlin.
The drama is written by acclaimed playwright Kevin Elyot (My Night With Reg), directed by Geoffrey Sax (Tipping The Velvet) and produced by Celia Duval (Margot) for Mammoth Screen, with Michele Buck (The Prisoner), Kevin Elyot (My Night with Reg) and Damien Timmer (Touching Evil) as executive producers and Eleanor Moran (Rome) as BBC executive producer, through Piers Wenger, Head of Drama for BBC Wales.

'Sexed up' Dr Who scenes prompt complaints to BBC

According to the Daily Mail, 43 people contacted the organisation complaining about an "overtly sexy scene" in the last show.
In the episode, companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) kisses the Doctor (Matt Smith) and tries to undress him.
She also teases him about how long ago he last had sex and suggests that she would not mind having a one-night stand.
Vivienne Pattison from Mediawatch UK said: "I have to say the scene was slightly out of place in a children's programme. I thought it sailed pretty close to the wind."
A BBC spokesperson confirmed that 43 complaints had been received but said: "Millions of Doctor Who fans watched and enjoyed last Saturday's episode, including the lighthearted and humorous scene in which Amy kissed the Doctor."
Doctor Who continues on Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.

Doctor Who: Matt Smith - the best 'Doctor' since Tom Baker?
Along with many others, I was worried at 2009's news that season 5 of the new Doctor Who would feature the youngest Doctor ever, in the form of Matt Smith (26 years old at the time of the announcement). Three years younger than Peter Davison when he took up the time-lord's mantle in 1981, it seemed that the BBC had abandoned the character's wisdom and sagacity in favour of floppy emo haircuts and 'youth appeal'.

Millions saw the Doctor Who actress snog Time Lord Matt Smith on BBC1 last night.
But she had eyes only for photographer boyfriend Patrick Green, 24, as they snuggled up during a park stroll near her London home. Flamehaired Karen, 22, who plays the Doctor's assistant Amy Pond, looked sizzling in shades when she took time out for a coffee and ciggie.
She described last night's screen kiss as "full-on snogging", but said: "My boyfriend is surprisingly cool with it." No wonder, right now he's at the centre of her Whoniverse.
